Bound in Ink
China has a rich history of stab binding (since the Ming Dynasty) to write Chinese characters. In collaboration with the Guild of Bookmakers, we will have people come in to teach the participants this age-old tradition which is very beginner-friendly. Bookbinding is a fun way to connect with traditional Chinese culture as well as learn a new skill. Participants will learn a bit of Chinese history with a hands-on activity as traditional stitched bookbinding has been widely used for decades. Attendees will leave with a new notebook and new connections in the community.
